What the Re-election of President Barack Obama Means to America and to the World

I have often thought that this election would be pivotal in the direction that our nation, and our world, would move in the 21st century because the choice of President Obama by the American people means that we as a race, a human race, are evolving toward greater consciousness of inclusion and egalitarianism in how we perceive one another.

No one lost this election because we are all moving in the direction that Providence would have us move, in my opinion. We are simply arriving sooner than later toward a kinder, more humanitarian world. There can be no losers when that has happened, and no one should proclaim victory over any other human being for to do that would not be in keeping with the beauty, and the grace, of this undertaking and its conclusion. The collective voice of the American people has spoken, and now the America that I so love, and have always believed in, will be better able to lead the world, a grateful world, to its higher destination. Thanks be to God.

Consciousness has changed in Americans and so have America’s demographics. America will not see a return to an outdated perception of interpersonal dynamics based on hierarchy and on the control of the less fortunate through the wealth and power of the more fortunate, as was true with slavery and Jim Crow. Americans are becoming more egalitarian in their perceptions, just as our Founding Fathers had envisioned would happen to citizens within our nation, over time.

President Obama understands well that egalitarian vision, with both his head and his heart. Watch for him to try to enhance that consciousness through programs that will strenghten the working middle class, lift the under classes (especially through education), and foster egalitarianism, as best he is able, throughout the world. If only Republicans will not remain intransigent toward him and his vision, as they have been in the past few years, America, under Obama’s leadership, will continue to move toward that “more perfect union” to which she was destined.

I am so proud of our nation. The voices of the masses have spoken loudly and clearly, with some citizens remaining in line to vote, for hours in the cold, in order to be the determiners of how they will be governed and to determine the type of government that they wish for themselves, today. The billionaires have been unsuccessful in trying to buy, stealthily, the America that they wanted, which would have primarily served their interests, the few of wealth and power.

Thomas Jefferson: “Some men look at constitutions with sanctimonious reverence and deem them like the arc of the covenant, too sacred to be touched. They ascribe to the men of the preceding age a wisdom more than human, and suppose what they did to be beyond amendment. . . .I know. . . that laws and institutions must go hand in hand with the progress of the human mind. . . .As. . . new discoveries are made, new truths disclosed, and manners and opinions change with the change of circumstances, institutions must advance also, and keep pace with the times. We might as well require a man to wear still the coat which fitted him when a boy, as civilized society to remain ever under the regimen of their barbarous ancestors. . . .Each generation. . . has. . .a right to choose for itself the form of government it believes most promotive of its own happiness. . . .”

My comments on September 28, 2013, to another poster on an AJC blog, regarding the value of President Obama to America”:

“Are you aware that President Obama, himself, has taken the lead in setting more rigid limitations and regulations on drone use? If you had listened to his speech before the U. N.’s General Assembly, you would know that.

Capitalism is the engine that makes our economy work. It simply needs government regulations and oversight to keep it from the extremes it can move into, unchecked. That is why the Koch Brothers and some other big business moguls do not want ANY government oversight to their capitalistic goals – so that they can have NO entity having control over them, their agendas, and their ways of making profit, even if other Americans are hurt in the process as has happened through lack of environmental controls in their factories. Obama is for having some government control over these capitalists instead of allowing them totally free rein. President Obama is not against capitalism; nor am I. Because the stock market has improved under President Obama, profits were saved through the stock market recovery and all of our retirement pensions were sustained, as a result. He did bring this nation from “the pits of Hell” by his choices of those in his cabinet who could make the near financial collapse, which he had inherited on day one of his presidency, recover.

Some jobs are better than no jobs and some health insurnce is better than no health insurance. Moreover, owners and CEOs of business were cutting their employees back to part time jobs well before Obamacare was even created because they have not wanted to pay employee benefits, including health insurance and pensions, for years. This cut back has also been happening to state employees – part time workers, furloughs, and layoffs – so that the state would not have to pay its state workers benefits such as pension benefits. The country, itself, took a turn to a more libertarian, selfish mindset several decades ago. This had nothing to do with Obama. If anything, Obama has tried to show us – in a balanced way – that we are all interrelated and that when the middle class flourishes, all flourish.

As more part time workers without job related health insurance come into existence, then health insurance will no longer be connected to jobs and that’s a good thing, imo. Obamacare will be available to all – not related to one’s job, necessarily. And, President Obama will help to create more fulltime jobs, as he did with the auto industry, by placing penalties on U.S. businesses which take their factories overseas to use foreign workers instead of American workers, as well as by giving incentives to businesses, throughout the world, to bring their factories to the U.S.
